Recent Activities

Lecture of Prof. S.P. Gautam, Vice Chancellor, MJP Rohilkhand University, Bareilly was organised on 12-11-2011 under the Extension Lecture Series. Theme of the lecture was Women Studies: Retrospect and Prospects. This was Second Lecture under the programme, first lecture was delivered by Prof. Pushpesh Pant, JNU, New Delhi in the year 2010.

•IDEAS an independent non-profit organization for collaborative research, analysis, networking and interaction and also ground level campaigns…in areas of contemporary concern.
 
•IDEAS It provides a meeting ground for the academicians, researchers and social workers of the region who are concerned with contemporary policy issues.

 

IT'S ACTIVITIES

  •  Three members to Governing Body.

        Three members were nominated by the house for two years, their names are as follows:

             i.      Prof. R.C. Mishra, Director, IPSDR, Kumaun University, Nainital

             ii.      Prof. Neerja Tandon, Head of the Department of Hindi, Kumaun University, Nainital

             iii.      Sri B.C. Pandey, Senior Advocate, Uttarakhand High Court, Nainital.

  •  Provision of membership of four types is as follows:

             i.      Individual one year membership                         - Membership fee will be Rs. 300=00 only.

             ii.      Individual three year membership                       - Membership fee will be Rs. 500=00 only.

             iii.      Individual life membership*                              - Membership fee will be Rs. 2000=00 only.

             iv.      Institutional five year membership                      - Membership fee will be Rs. 5000=00 only.

                                        *subject to review after a period of 15 years

  •  An appeal will be made to all five yearly members to convert to there membership into life membership. After converting there membership they will  have to pay balance amount only. Their earlier membership fee will be subtracted from present fee.

  •  Life members will obtain volumes of QUEST free of cost and other publications at half of the cost.

  •  Inviting proposals for hosting seminars/workshops from members of IDEAS.

  • The UGC-Academic Staff College, Kumaun University, Nainital, under the aegis of its Think Tank, IDEAS, has organised competitions (Essay, Poster & Collage) for school children, of Classes IX, X, XI and XII on the theme Hind Swaraj: 100 Years of the Gandhian Vision. These, along with a National Seminar, is organized to commemorate the centenary of Mahatama Gandhi’s immortal treatise, Hind Swaraj, written in 1909.
